Rock-It Science's curriculum is effective in part because of Rock-It Science's unique "storytelling methodology". As part of the lesson plans, stories are told that incorporate some of the scientific background information that the children are to learn. The stories have "cliff hanger" endings . The students must participate in a scientific experiment to arrive at a conclusion to the story.

Each of the project-oriented activities that are part of the lessons is designed to generate enthusiasm for learning the concepts of the lesson. The excitement leads to a more effective environment for the science learning to take place.

Materials used in the experiments are inexpensive and readily available. This makes the curriculum cost effective to implement.

Sample Our Curriculum: This sample lesson, "Water Bottle Rockets," includes the introduction, the story, and a description of the hands-on experiment.

Watch our Videos:

  • Watch Mr. Mac demonstrate simple experiments you can do at home!
  • Fifth-grade students at a public school learn about kinetic and potential energy the Rock-it Science way, by building "Marble Roller Coasters!"
